What are you ‘PASSIONATE’ about?

Monday, September 28th, 2009

Passion is one of my favorite words - it represents a certain attitude towards the way we live our lives. I can recall not very long ago when my life was completely null and void of it - I clearly remember how mundane and pathetic I felt - no direction - no inspiration - no excitement. Without passion it’s easy to fall into a boring and meaningless existence - How I ever allowed myself to get to that point is beyond me but I’m happy to say those days are gone forever - today my life is full of it - my passions run far, deep, and wide - starting with my family I find there is nothing better than the joys I experience being a father - the challenges we face in raising a family and creating harmonious relationships are far from easy but well worth the efforts.

To have passion in what we do for a living is a must - I implore everyone, men and women, young and old to search long and hard for work that you can be passionate about - having to get out of bed everyday to go to a job that you don’t enjoy could very well the first nail in your coffin - we hear about so many people that despise their jobs - for me this would be a travesty and a prison sentence. On top of finding a job you love it is very important to have hobbies and extra curricular activities that illicit the same excitement - I find the easiest thing to be passionate about is helping others - one of the 7 disciplines is ‘Serve’ - there is something magical about doing things for others without expecting something in return - and the easiest thing be be passionate about, for anyway is having a connection and relationship with God - there is nothing more satisfying and nothing that I have found that brings you more peace than that unwavering love that is always there for us. Live your life with passion there’s no better way!

Are you in control of your ‘MIND’?

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Mostly everyone is born with a very special gift - the ability to make our own choices - we call this blessing ‘Free will’ - As we journey through the many stages of life we develop an awareness of this ability and like it or not it will be those very choices that develop, design, and create the adult that we will eventually become God willing of course. Those of us who are lucky enough to make it beyond the tumultuous teen years into young adulthood might not get there unscathed - that is because those choices we’ve been making along the way could very well debilitate our free will - let me explain.

When we are oblivious to the way the mind, spirit, body, and soul need to cooperate with one another there’s a very good chance we will actually lose control of our mind therefore losing the ability to make the right choices. Once this disconnection happens that’s when the body takes over and our lives start to be influenced and often dominated by cravings, temptation, and desire. How often do you hear the term ‘I have an addictive personality’? Well the fact is any one of us that falls victim to this situation is very vulnerable to addiction. In my opinion addiction is one of, if not the biggest problem the human race is facing today. We are addicted to many, many things - Alcohol and drugs (both street and prescription), cigarettes, caffeine, food, sugar, television, the internet, sex, pornography, shopping, gambling, video games, cell phones, working, adrenaline, and even gossip and drama. I’m sure we could add to this list but you get the point.

Life can become very uncomfortable when we lose control of ourselves - when we’re addicted to something the negative consequences can reach far and wide - In most cases addiction ill make life seem like a runaway roller-coaster replete with severe ups and downs - this is how and when suffering becomes apparent. Well the good news is we don’t have to live this way - there is a way to take back control of the mind - The ChiForce lifestyle with its 7 disciplines will do just that - if what you just read resonated with you or you might know someone that could use some help - don’t hesitate to call The Power Center and ask to learn more about how to incorporate ChiForce into your life - It could very well be the answer you’ve been looking for - Take the first step toward a healthy and happy life - You deserve it!

Have you heard about the ‘Boot Camp’ workouts?

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

Boot Camp workouts have been the latest craze in the health & fitness arena. I’m sure most of you know that these types of workouts are inspired by the way the military trains the young soldiers to prepare them for battle. These workouts usual combine cardiovascular exercise with strength work. In most cases the strength work is body-weight only using no heavy weights or machines. This happens to be our favorite way to train our clients at The Power Center. For over eight years now we’ve been helping Monmouth County residents get into the best shape of their lives using mostly body-weight exercises. I am totally convinced that the boot camp type of workout is not only one of the most effective ways to get into shape but it’s the most fun and the most affordable. If you don’t mind working out in the same room with a variety of people, working up a great sweat, and pushing yourself to your physical limits than the EAST/WEST BOOT CAMP WORKOUT is something you should try. If you’re available come on over to the Power Center tomorrow - Thursday September 17th at 9:30 am for an open house and try a class for free - no obligation. Come and see if it’s not the best workout you’ve ever had - I guarantee it will rival anything you’ve ever tried in the past - We’d love to have you so don’t be shy come and experience what a real workout feels like.

How can we be of ‘SERVICE’?

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

For some asking for help can be awkward and uncomfortable - I used to have a lot of trouble asking people for help attempting to do everything on my own - Eventually I came to the realization that helping others is one of life’s most rewarding acts - once I got over the fear of asking someone for help my experiences soon changed - my relationships improved and my life got a whole lot easier and much more enjoyable!

Eight years ago I decided to open The Power Center because I had the desire to help people - my initial intention was to help athletes improve their ability by sharing my understanding of how an athlete can improve their speed, agility, explosive power, strength, flexibility, and most importantly their mental toughness. Soon after opening my doors I started to help some of my friends get into shape by sharing the very rare and unique training techniques I learned while training with a Martial Arts Grand Master that earned 21 degrees of black belt - a feat that very few people have ever accomplished.

Today at The Power Center we are helping people from all walks of life that are dealing with a variety of health, fitness and over all wellness issues. We no longer limit ourselves to only helping athletes and those people looking for a great workout. We have a line of phenomenal ‘whole-food’ nutritional products and an empowerment program that will help people lose weight and keep it off — overcome addictions of all kinds — manage stress and anxiety — end depression — improve sleep — build confidence and create an overall feeling of optimal health and peace of mind.

With that said if you or anyone you know - men, women, boys or girls that need help with any of the aforementioned items then don’t hesitate to give us a call (732-212-0700) or shoot us an email (powercenter1@aol.com) to discuss and decide whether or not our philosophies, training technique, and programs are what you or anyone could use to improve your life. There is absolutely no obligation and the consultation is free of charge - We are here to help, that’s what we do so don’t wait on it - unfortunately life won’t sit around waiting for us to get it together so there’s no better time than now - Hope to hear from you soon - Have an awesome day!

How ‘FIT’ are you?

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

There’s been plenty of talk over the years about the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle - We’ve become very familiar with terms like health & fitness, wellness, cardiovascular health, and as of late with the new administration in office you’ll hear the President using the word prevention in most his speeches about health care reform. Let’s delve into the concept of prevention for a second - what exactly are we trying to prevent? An obvious answer would be any type of degenerative disease especially the life threatening sort.

When I think about prevention much more than sickness and disease comes to mind - With our society set up the way that it is we have to play close attention to a wide variety of variables that can adversely affect our well being. For example if we don’t manage stress in a healthy way chances are we’ll resort to either harboring the stress or self medicating with dangerous habits like smoking, drinking, over eating or using drugs.

Depression is something that needs to be considered as well - more and more people are relying on prescription drugs to treat the symptoms of depression as opposed to addressing the root cause of the problem that very well could prevent the depression from ever being a serious issue. Nutrition is one of the biggest concerns of mine. We may be inviting debilitating disease into our lives by the way we choose to eat. Foods that are processed with chemicals, dye’s, trans fats, and refined sugars are potentially very dangerous - animals fed pesticide laden feed, raised and slaughtered in unsanitary conditions, injected with hormones, and administered antibiotics can all wreak havoc on our state of health.

In order to be truly ‘fit’ I believe that one has to take the mind, the body, the spirit, and one’s emotions into consideration. If we only focus on exercising that won’t cut it - if we eat clean but have a high stress job and do nothing to manage the stress we’ll still be vulnerable. I think there’s no better way to prevent all of life’s dangerous invaders then by ‘Living the Seven’ - The ChiForce way of life can take your health & fitness to new heights as long as you make the commitment, stick to it, and wait for it to work its magic.

MASTER AMINO COMPLEX - PHP Product of the Week!

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Imagine if I told you that I had a potion that could help you build muscle while you were sleeping
and you didn’t even have to work out. And, if that didn’t sound crazy enough, I went on to tell you
that this elixir would even help you build muscle if you were paralyzed or in a coma. You would
think that you were listening to a late night infomercial and be filled with disbelief. But imagine
if such a thing actually existed- wouldn’t you want it?
Well as far fetched or futuristic as this might sound, such a pill actually exists today and it is completely
natural. Not to mention that 36 clinical studies have been published in scientific journals that support
these claims. Moreover, this product that we call the Master Amino Acid Complex, which is patented
under the name the Master Amino Acid Plan, is used in hospitals and clinics throughout the world. This
100% pure, non-soy, vegetarian, muscle building protein is unmatched by any product offered to the public,
or to athletes on any level, throughout history.
Dozens of record setting world champions use this product in their daily routine and brag about it without
compensation, however many of my favorite benefits have nothing to do with athletic performance. Body
toning, face-lifting, brain enhancing, ADD reversing, and energizing are some of the most useful characteristics of the Master Amino Complex that have contributed greatly to making this product popular worldwide. One growing group of consumers is the vegan and vegetarian community, whom are achieving amazing performance and muscle tone without eating animal protein!

Is “PAIN” your friend?

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

PAIN is a very familiar and profound aspect of our lives - It comes in many forms, shapes, sizes, and levels of intensity - there’s emotional pain, physical pain, mental pain, unavoidable pain, and self-inflicted pain. The type of pain that I want to address today is self-inflicted pain. I’m not talking about self-mutilation or self-abuse, I’m talking about the pain we experience when we exercise. Let me get even more specific - I’m not talking about pain from an injury or something like an aching back - I’m referring to ‘the burn’, the pain we feel when we push ourselves during physical activity - working our bodies until fatigue starts to creep in - when one more push up - a hundred more yards - or five more squats feels like an impossible feat - when the lungs are on fire and the heart feels like it might explode.

One of our motto’s here at The Power Center is ‘Pain is your Friend’ - Now before you draw any conclusions that I’m some kind of glutton for punishment let me explain exactly how pain can be your ally instead of an adversary. Growing up as an athlete I was always taught to push myself to 100% and beyond - the only problem was I didn’t learn how to do that until my athletic career was over. The old saying, ‘if I only knew then what I know now’ couldn’t be any more fitting - the good news is that it doesn’t only have to apply to athletics.

When we place our focus on the mind as opposed to the body (which is something I had always done in the past) pain plays a vital roll that can help elevate our minds to new heights.  Here’s how it works: when we choose to do exercises that can be done for large number of repetitions you will eventually arrive at a point of fatigue when the muscles start to run out of energy or the lungs feel like they might collapse- that’s when the body starts to send messages to the brain saying that it’s experiencing an uncomfortable feeling and “I would like it if we could stop doing this” - Once this internal dialogue begins that is our opportunity to work the mind - you see the body is capable of doing much more than the it’s willing to admit and so when we reach this point of exercise we have the choice to stop or continue - the further we push ourselves beyond the point when the body wants to quit the stronger we become, mentally. I would imagine that there isn’t a person out there that wouldn’t benefit from being mentally tougher.

This type of training requires an understanding of the theory, an awareness of how the body’s energy system works, and how the breath plays an important role in achieving optimal results. You can learn all of these principals with any of the “Prevention Specialists” (Trainers) at The Power Center. So feel free to call us and set up an appointment taking your first step towards creating a healthier you. You deserve it!
