Shall we NOURISH?

Monday, November 29th, 2010

The timing for our word of the week couldn’t have been any more appropriate - Thanksgiving weekend is all about family and food - at least that’s the tradition that I grew up in - Our Thanksgiving feast is fit for a King and I must admit that I did an overindulging impersonation of Henry the VIII - a King that had quite a reputation for being a glutton - Turkey day is one the few days of the year where I definitely overdo it - too much of the real food and way too much of the sweets - I just can’t resist the apple and pumpkin pies - in fact I think I’ll have one last slice of pumpkin as soon as I finish writing this entry - Once Monday rolls around it’s back to ‘Nourishing’ the body with healthy and nutritious food, nourishing the mind with positive thoughts - practicing de-stressing and relaxation exercises, and nourishing the Spirit and the Soul with lots of laughing and loving - I can’t emphasize the importance of eating clean and healthy food and drinking clean and pure water enough - there are more and more results from the research being done that proves that food has the ability to keep us healthy and prevent disease and just as much information that proves that eating unhealthy foods can compromise our immune systems and ultimately lead to a host of debilitating and devastating diseases - I always try to encourage people to do your own research - read about the dangers of preservatives and food additives that are in so many our of food products today (binders, fillers, sweeteners, artificial flavors) Do your best to stay away from processed foods - items that come in a bag, box or a can - My number one rule that I try to abide by is eating as close to Nature as God intended - eating organically grown fruits and veggies - choosing meats that are fed natural and organic feed - raised outdoors without hormones and antibiotics - and fish that were caught in the wild not farm raised - Eating a balanced diet with plenty of variety is essential as well - trying to eat as close to a regular schedule helps to keep our metabolism functioning at an optimal level - In order to obtain optimal health it’s important to consider the many components of our being, not just the physical - when we live high stress lives tainted with anxiety, depression, anger and other negative emotions it creates imbalances and disharmony in our mind as well as our body - So always keep in mind how important it is to Nourish the whole person that you are and not just a part - If there’s anyone out there that’s struggling with health issues especially weight-loss and you’ve tried and tried with no success may I suggest you try Living the 7 - The ChiForce Way covers everything and will help just about anyone achieve any and all of their health and wellness goals - Contact us at The Power Center if you need our help.

What are you ‘Studying’?

Monday, November 22nd, 2010

It was more than ten years ago when my mentor said: “If you want to possess true power you need to do four things - train the way I show you - meditation - pray for others and study, exercise for your mind.” I wasn’t sure what he was talking about regarding study but fortunately he uncharacteristically elaborated. He explained how important it is to find something outside of work and school to study - “study your passion - read and research - try maybe one hour every day.” At the time of that lesson about the only thing I was passionate about was food and satisfying my hedonistic cravings - pursuit of those two things did nothing for me as far as my brains development was concerned - in fact pursuit of those things had led me down a pretty pathetic path and I was desperately needing to try something new and so I dove head first into his four recommendations - study gave me the most trouble because I literally had no idea what to study - after a few months of contemplating I finally decided that I wanted to study people - I always found people to be very interesting -wondering why we do what we do? why we treat each other the way we do? And what if anything, can we do differently that would improve our lives and our interactions? Studying has definitely had a positive impact on me and I’m glad I heeded the advice that came my way all those years ago - I have to say that there hasn’t been a dull moment since I began my exploration into the world of human behavior - we humans are fascinating, brilliant, gifted, bizarre, beautiful, wicked, brutal, strange, amazing and dynamic beings - I’m glad I found my passion and I love studying all about it - so I suggest or better yet I implore you to do the same - find something your passionate about and dive into it - head first - and trust me when I tell you it’s worth it and it does provide great exercise for the brain.

Who do you ‘PRAY’ for?

Monday, November 15th, 2010

As a kid and right on up into my thirties I was about as narcissistic as one could imagine and my of prayers were a perfect example of my self-centeredness - every prayer that I sent out to the great unknown were all self serving and pretty shallow - ‘please God help me win this game - get that girl - pass this test - graduate - make it home alive - win the lottery - make this hangover go away - none of which were ever answered except the make it home alive prayers which I am very grateful for. It wasn’t until the Grand Master I was training with suggested that I pray for others, that I realized just how selfish I was - that person pointed out that there are billions of people on this planet that are so much less fortunate than me and just as many that are fighting an illness, or endangered by war, hunger, natural disaster, poverty, among many other adversities. I immediately agreed that it couldn’t hurt to send out some positive thoughts to those people that could use a little help - as the years went by I got into the habit of making selfless prayer a part of my daily life and it made such a profound impact on me when I began to work on developing the ChiForce, Live the Seven program, selfless prayer was high on the list of choices for the seven disciplines. I am a huge believer in prayer and the power it has to influence and change lives.
For me personally it makes me appreciate all of the blessings I have in my life and not take anything for granted - it also makes me aware of what’s going on throughout our world and just how right that teacher of mine was when he said there are many people that can use a prayer - as a matter of fact I believe we all need a prayer as does mother earth - I pray that every human being living on this amazing earth creates a life for themselves that is full of peace, love, health, and happiness and that we all come to realize that there is only one earth for all of us to share and it might be in our best interest to take better care of her - Amen

Who needs some CHI FORCE?

Monday, November 8th, 2010

As far as I’m concerned there’s a very obvious answer to that question - EVERYONE!
Unless you are a regular at The Power Center, know me personally, or have been reading my blogs you might be wondering what ChiForce means - well let me start by saying it is a new word in the English language that I plan on making a household name! When you practice the ChiForce Way of life you will start experience many changes - physical changes, mental changes, emotional changes, and most importantly spiritual changes. There are seven disciplines that make up the ChiForce Way and when they are implemented on a consistent basis you begin to see and experience life from a new and improved perspective. Life starts to flow with a much greater ease - circumstances that once bothered you or caused stress no longer do - you start to appreciate, understand, and embrace, and find answers to many of life’s most profound inquiries– those questions that I would imagine have been asked for ions - who am I? why am I here? What’s my purpose? I consider the 7 disciplines a direct path to personal empowerment - when you Live the 7 (LT7) fear is no longer a part of the equation - intruders like envy, greed, and gluttony don’t stand a chance when you LT7.
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is that when we ignore our spirit and our lives revolve around the pleasures of the body we eventually lose all self control and relinquish our power over our own free will - when this happens our lives will be dictated by temptation and all of life’s cravings and desires - and with that loss of control comes many unpleasant experiences - I think we all know what it feels like when this happens but I believe there are many of you out there that have no idea that it’s even happening and if you are aware of it you have no idea what to do about - well now you do. If you feel as if your life is an emotional roller coaster,  or you have any number of addictions, or you’re depressed, anxiety ridden, or feeling lost and afraid then I suggest you do yourself a favor and try living the ChiForce Way - LT7 and watch the transformation begin - I promise, you will not be disappointed. Make sure you put some effort into it though and don’t expect the changes to come overnight. It takes time and effort before the magic starts to show itself, but trust me when I tell you it is well worth the wait! I’d also like to offer my help to anyone that has any questions or concerns about what to do when it comes to Livng the 7 call me - email me - or come in to The Power Center and I will answer any and all of your questions or concerns.
Each and every one of us is capable of living a life without fear, insecurity, doubt, and the many other debilitating entities that are attempting to take away our peace, love, health and happiness - take control of your life - tap into the limitless power that is deep within your being. Imagine the mountains we could move if we all decided to live up to our potential - what a beautiful world we would create.

How’s your ATTITUDE?

Monday, November 1st, 2010

I read something that I thought was worth sharing. It was written by a man named Charles Swindell and I couldn’t agree more with what he has to say -
“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on my life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It’s more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more imporrttant than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company…a church…a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We can not change the evitable. The only thing we can do is play on the string that we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you…we are in charge of our attitude.”

Each and every one of us is in charge of our attitudes and there are plenty among us that can use a bit of an adjustment. I was very fortunate to have had several people in my life that helped me develop a positive outlook on life and I must admit that seeing things in a positive light makes life so much more enjoyable. I believe that attitude is something that all of us can work on - if one so desires, a bad one can be turned into a good one, or better yet a great one. Just imagine what life could be like if a larger majority of humanity nutured a more positive attitude. I can imagine it - less conflict - more peace - less violence - more love - less destruction - more harmony - less hatred - more compassion. I could go on and on and on but my point is obvious - lets all choose to walk through life with a better attitude and make our time here with each other more amazing than it already is - Spread the love people - The world needs it!
