To commit to a goal or a way of life - self sacrificing devotion — These are two of the several ways to define dedication - the chosen subject of this weeks blog - Considering the overwhelming health crisis that our country and many others around the world are facing, there’s no better time than right now to dedicate ourselves to making some changes in our collective lifestyle - I consider the people that occupy this earth to be one enormous family - a family that needs to come together and solve some of our problems - problems that if we continue to ignore will threaten millions if not billions of lives - WE are sick OUR earth is sick and WE all need to dedicate ourselves to healing ourselves each other and mother earth - Our physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health has been compromised by our way of life and making better choices needs to be our top priority - I truly believe with all my heart that the large majority of human beings can take back control of their health and contribute to the global healing movement that is so desperately needed.

SELF SACRIFICING DEVOTION - these three words speak volumes - if we step outside of ourselves for a moment and put our egos aside it’s so easy to see that we need each other - we need to come together as a people - not as a country - not as a religion - not as a political party - as human beings - all part of the same family - we need to help each other - support one another - share the information and the resources that will promote change - every individual needs to take responsibility for themselves - it’s up to each of us to make the decision to get healthy - I say we all dedicate the next year to changing the world by changing ourselves - we’re all blessed with free will - the ability to choose - I’m choosing to dedicate myself to be strong - mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally strong - What are you going to choose to dedicate yourself to?

I am ______ - What’s the first word that comes to mind? Happy? At peace? In love? Healthy? Strong? A good friend? Nice? Honest? If you are anything like I was 7 or 8 years ago then the words that would fill that blank would be much more dismal - I would have been using words like; lost, confused, dishonest, selfish, lazy, mean, disconnected, depressed, delusional, and addicted. The beautiful thing about this life is that we’re blessed with a conscious and free will, which enables to assess and evaluate ourselves and decide if the choices we’re making are the right ones that will result in feeling good about who we are - I am is a very important statement we have to make - we are creators and we have the responsibility to mold ourselves into the person we want to be - everything is a choice - we can choose to live with integrity, honor, and self-respect or we can choose to be a liar, a criminal, or a jerk - its up to us to decide who we become and who we want to present to the rest of the world - it all starts with paying attention to what were thinking and how those thoughts lead to feelings and feelings to actions and actions lead to results. Another beautiful blessing this life affords all of us is multiple chances to get things right - we can mess things up over and over and over again until one day the lightbulb goes off and just like magic we can change our ways - make better choices and turn our lives around filling in that blank with words that we can be proud of - So I challenge all of you to fill in your blank and see what you come up with - see if there’s some areas of your life that might need some work and some adjustments - before we can make any changes we first have to identify that something’s not right - then we decide to do something about and formulate a plan to make it happen - so today I challenge you and myself to evaluate who you are and who I am and together let’s make some changes that will make OUR WORLD a better place. And let’s do it with smiles on our faces Have a great day!

Much of our learned behavior come from the adults that we emulate and imitate as we grow, mature, and develop into our own person. In most cases these people are our parents, our grandparents or our guardians. Respect was always a quality that was discussed and expected to be taken seriously in our family. It started with self-respect – then we were taught to respect one another’s differences and individuality – respect our elders – and always have respect for our earth. Without self-respect it is virtually impossible to have any respect for anyone or anything else. Without respect for other people and our earth the results can be devastating. I’ve been taught and now believe that it is imperative that we learn to respect our body, our mind and our spirit in order to become a powerful human being - able to reach more of our potential, which will manifest into a natural desire and ability to respect all things living on this planet.

Transformation - You are truly a rare breed if you aren’t in need of some kind of transformation. I bet it’s probably safe to say that most of us are here on this earth to learn some valuable lessons - We all live and we all learn - we are all students that will eventually ask the same questions - who am I? - why am I here? - where do we go when it’s all said and done? - I once read that in order to understand what we ARE we first need to understand what we ARE NOT- in order to to comprehend such profundity we are required to live through a plethora of experiences that will hopefully shed some light on our confusion - we’re on a journey - an exploration of self that is replete with many hardships, emotional ups and downs, challenges, fears, doubts, and insecurities - often times these experiences force us to run, hide, escape, ignore or develop coping skills that will temporarily make life manageable but there’s only so much of it that we can take. That’s when we draw the conclusion that there’s got to be something more to life than this and we start to desire change - a more meaningful connection and that’s when you start your transformation from a life rooted in fear to a life full of peace, love, health and happiness.

Courage - So many of life’s circumstances can be quite challenging and present difficult situations for us to deal with. Courage is our defense mechanism that does battle with our fears, allowing us to face them head on with the fortitude to overcome them. Courage is called upon when you realize its time to follow your dreams, to speak your truth, to change your situation. Courage is what people have who choose to follow the road less taken, to listen to the voice within, or to create the life they want to live. Today’s world can be a very intimidating place and courage is a very useful trait to develop. Courage is an attitude, a way of looking at things. Courage is what helps us get back up when we get knocked down and motivates us to keep fighting, through whatever circumstances we find ourselves in.

Always try to move courageously through life believing that no matter how difficult things may get – no matter what obstacles stand in your way there is a way to come out on top.

Within - What an interesting word - it has so much wonder and mystique - When we look within there is an entire world to be seen - we can recall our dreams - failures - hopes - scars - lessons - pain - pleasure - heartache - joy - fear - love - the list can go on and on - Don’t be afraid of what you might find on your way down because at the core what you will find is God’s eternal light - pure love - the absolute truth - a peaceful calm and serenity - During my training in California with my mentor I learned that inside every human being is an entire Universe that mirrors the Universe in which we live - both are comprised of the same elements and both are limitless - deep within each of us are the answers to all of life’s questions - the journey thru all of the fear and pain we’ve accumulated throughout our lives are merely the lessons we needed to learn in order to find the answers to those questions - so have no fear - look deep within - you just might be pleasantly surprised with what you find.

Faith - In this world Faith is an enormous word. Faith connects us to God - From Faith comes love, belief, hope, eternity and peace of mind. Without Faith it would be as if we were choosing to live life as if we were on a solo mission that had no purpose, no meaning. Faith keeps us moving and believing in something more - it inspires us - and hopefully helps us to strive to live with integrity, honor, honesty, and passion. It is our beacon of light that calls us - illuminating each of our paths as we search for the connectedness that we all innately desire. I have faith that no matter what everything will okay - no matter what - God, please bless the people of Haiti and give strength to all those people that are there helping.

The word warrior is defined by Webster as: a man engaged or experienced in warfare; a person engaged in some struggle or conflict - Well in my estimation, according to the second part of that definition most human beings must be warriors bc I don’t know anyone that hasn’t had some form of conflict or struggle in their lives. In my opinion I think that the second part of that definition doesn’t really do the word justice. I think a warrior should be determined by the way they handle conflict and struggle - after all isn’t life for most of us a series of struggles and conflicts masterfully designed to help us learn, develop and/or evolve as human beings - it is within these events of our lives where the “warrior spirit” is spawned. Unfortunately many people crumble and fall when faced with adversity, but a true warrior can take on anything life throws at them and persevere, overcome and ultimately find a way to conquer all obstacles finding themselves victorious - I love people that never quit - never stop fighting - never stop dreaming - never stop reaching for the stars - To me that’s what a warrior is! So I’ll ask you again - Can you ignite your Warrior Spirit? I think you can!

I’ve never been a big participant when it came to New Year’s resolutions - I’m not really sure why - I guess it’s due in part to the fact that I’ve never been much of a goal oriented person - I mostly do things spontaneously - taking things as they come or figuring it out as I go - I’ve found that this method or approach to life will only get you so far and I’m not completely satisfied with where I’ve been and where I am at this stage of my life - So with that said, I’ve decided that this year is going to be different - I’m going to try something new - I’ve decided to map out a new course of action - I want to see just how far a new system can take me - This resolution I’ll be embarking on is going to be a pretty tall order but I feel like I’m up for the challenge.

For over 8 years now I’ve been sharing my love for health and fitness with the hundreds of people that have walked through my doors here at The Power Center but I know there is so much more that I can and should be doing - I feel like I’ve got some awesome information to share and I haven’t done a fraction of what I could to get this information to the millions of people that can use a little help - So my resolution is to create a much bigger platform than just my small operation at The Power Center, making the ChiForce message much more accessible for others - especially those that don’t live in the Red Bank area - This platform will include a newsletter, books, video messages, DVD’s, and much more - So I better stop writing this blog now because I’ve got a lot of work to do.

Have a healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year!
