John Nies
John Nies is a Monmouth County native, born and raised in Ocean Township. He established himself as one of the area’s most noteable athletes in 1985 as an all-state wide-receiver and the captain of the state-finalist Spartans. He took his skill to the national level after being drafted into the NFL by the Buffalo Bills out of the University of Arizona in 1990. He founded the Power Center in 2002 after studying with Grand Master MacDam, a Vietnamese doctor who transformed his understanding of physical strength and personal power. Over the last eight years, he has focused all of his energy and experience into developing a new approach to fitness that’s rooted in ancient wisdom but acknowledges the benefits of modern day knowledge, a technique he refers to as East Meets West. To further his students’ understanding of the mind’s influence on the body’s overall health and well-being, he developed The Seven Disciplines™, an insightful approach to helping people find inner peace and balance while fulfillingtheir full potential. In addition to his highly regarded sports specific training program for athletes, John also specializes in helping people overcome weight challenges, substance abuse, insomnia and depression. The primary benefits of his training include increased energy level, prevention of illness, elimination of fear and anxiety, the cultivation of discipline, and the ability to stay calm during stressful situations.

INSTRUCTORS
Chris left the corporate world in 2010 to pursue a less conventional but more gratifying career in yoga. With over ten years experience of practicing, attending workshops and advance trainings, he traveled to Florida in the summer of 2010 to attend Jimmy Barkan’s Hot Yoga teacher training and achieved RYT 200 Hour certification. Armed with this mighty piece of paper and a love for yoga, with it’s amazing physical, mental and spiritual benefits, he embarked on a full time career teaching at various locations through out NJ and privately. Each class of Chris’s is somewhat different, but at the same time familiar. At it’s core, it’s a hot Vinyasa flow, with a focus on proper alignment and breathing while building strength and flexibility. So don’t worry, you’ll be able to keep up as the class is geared for the beginner to the advanced practitioner alike. By the end, your mind will likely be tamed and you will be left with a sense of peace, well being and probably quite sweaty. For further information please visit christophercordasco.com.
Lauren began practicing yoga several years ago in attempt to naturally alleviate years worth of body pain and headaches. This effort to find physical relief led to a new level of mind/body awareness, health and happiness. After spending a summer as a volunteer at a yoga retreat center on the big island of Hawaii, Lauren returned with an even greater passion for yoga and the desire to share its benefits with the people around her. She received her certification at YogaWorks in New York City with Chrissy Carter. Her training emphasized linking breath with movement, heat and flow, as well as alignment in postures. After teaching at a small studio in NYC, Lauren recognized the importance of individual attention and adjustments. She is excited to continue to share the bliss she found through yoga.
